I have the honor to forward through your office to that of the Asst. Commissioner State of Va., the following report for the month of June 1867 in compliance with circular No 6th, Dated Hd Qurs. Asst. Com'r, State of Va. Richmond Jan'y 29th, 1866.

The existing feeling between the whites and Blacks is the same as per last report. The Whites seem to pursue a studied indifference in regard to the Bureau affairs. The colored are wide awake and are shoving forward in the course pointed out to them by myself. They seem very anxious in regard to educational institutions and are determined to show the Whites that they wish to act honest and fulfill whatever contracts they have with them. The Whites, while they denounce the Bureau, take every opportunity, when it might be to
