I have the honor to report: That Bureau affairs progress as well as could be expected.  The feeling between the races is not now thought to be as hostile as formerly.  That some white citizens have, by expressing more liberal views,- taking part in Sabbath Schools and such like acts, gained the confidence of the freedmen to some extent.  This fact I think sufficiently demonstrates that the Freedmen are now willing to give their confidence, when they see proof of sincerity, and that they harbor no bad feelings which can not be removed if the proper course is pursued.
