In compliance with existing orders I have the honor to submit the following Report of the Condition of Bureau Affairs in the Co's of Nottoway and Lunenburg, Va. for and during the month ending June 30th 1867.

Condition of the Freedmen

They are all at work and I have heard no complaints of their idleness, when treated properly and paid promptly, the intelligent and liberal Farmers acknowledge that the Freedmen will labor faithfully. 

I have reason to beleive that the morals of the Freedmen are gradually improving. Judging from the few arrests for offences and crimes made, at no time during the past year have there been so few arrests or trials of Freedmen, as during the past two months, They also appear to have a higher appreciation of the Marriage
