I have heard of no instance where an Employee has refused to allow, or placed any obsticle in the way of the Freedmen's attending these meetings, Should such a case come to my knowledge I should consider it my duty to immediately report it

The wheat crop in this County has been nearly all harvested, and although not so much was sown as generally, yet such as was has yielded large returns. The Corn is working well, and there is good promise of a large Crop. The prospects of those engaged in agriculture are in this County, and at this time, very encouraging and should they meet with no disastor. I am Satisfied they will pay much better wages than at the present.

I have to report the establishment of a Private School at Black Walnut for Colored persons which though now in its infancy promises to be a success The School which I have been endeavouring for some time to establish here, has not yet been started, as there is no building which can be procured suitable for the purpose, and as yet I have been unable to procure by Gift or purchase land on which one can be built in a convenient locality.

The Health of the County is very good, but few deaths occuring, and but little sickness and that of a slight character.

Very Respectfully
