At Blacksburg, Montgomery Co. a Gentleman has kindly donated to the Freedmen, nearly an acre of Land, on which to build a School House and Church - when fully secured, they desire to erect a House for the purposes designated, and earnestly request that they may receive some assistance from the Bureau. 

I will now close this report by giving a few statistics from the census returns of Montgomery County, as far as received (although not completed) on account of the more pressing duties, devolving upon me, as President of the Board of Registration and Military Commissioner, in connection with my other duties. They are as follows: 

426 under 6 years of age - 926 between 6 and 21 years - 1016 over 21 years.
1519 Black - 731 Mulatto - 862 Quadroon and 35 Octoroon.
1160 Males - 1211 Females - 1930 born Slaves - 441 Free born (including those born free since Jan 1st 1863.)
1049 are in the service of the whites - 219 are single - 702 married. 
199 able to read and 30 able to write - 241 afflicted with serious infirmity - 150 in needy circumstances. 
341 Church members, to wit: 252 Methodists, 83 Baptists, 8 Presbyterians, 1 Dunker and 2 Catholics. 
101 Single men and 29 Single women over 21 years of age - 348 Males and 321 Females married over 21 years of age. 
3 Males and 30 Females married under 21 years - 38 widowers and 162 widows over 21 years and 12 widows under 21 years - 361, total number of illegitimate children.
59 written articles of contract - 81 Leases - 119 working on Shares - 852 working for monthly wages.
487 entitled to vote.
I enclose herewith a copy of report made by the Overseers of the Poor, of Pulaski Co. in reference to their distribution of Poor-fund, among indigent freedmen, during the year ending June 1st 1867.
