their laziness or roving from place to place, and the fact that the Negro will work, and honestly maintain himself and his family, seems to be conceded by the Whites of this Division generally.

The enfranchisement and politcal equality of the Freedmen, and the establishing of schools for their education, are now regarded as fixed facts, and as something, that it is out of their power to prevent.

No suffering for food has occurred in the Division. those who are unable to provide for themselves, being supported by the counties.
