Quite a warm interest is being felt and manifested on the subject of Education and there is little reason to doubt that one or more schools will be sustained during the coming fall and winter.
The freedmen appear to be generally aware of their political rights - great pains having been taken to inform them by the agent who preceded me.
The subject of temperance has been brought to public notice on the only occasion that has offered; it will be prosecuted as sedulously as possibly and will be as much work inasmuch as it is entirely near to the people, and there is room for improvement.

Having but lately assumed charge I am unable to make a very full report or not anything of especial interest.
