The majority of the Freedman have but little confidence in their employers and a mutual distrust seems to exist between them, This can safely be ascribed to their unjust treatment by a certain class of dishonest employers, The Freedman seem to have a full and correct appreciation of their political rights and privileges, and will not be deterred in the exercise of them.

The White Citizens are more disposed to treat the Freedmen with justice and respect, than formerly and their society is even courted. But the latter class view these advances of their white neighbors with distrust and suspicion.

The issue of Rations to Dest Freedmen will be required no longer than one month, as by that time the Civil Authorities will be prepared to take charge of Col'd paupers,

Two Freedmen's Schools are now in operation in these Counties, and are in a flourishing condition,

Very Respectfully
