In compliance with Circular No 6 [[crossed out]]current[[/crossed out]] series 1866 I have the honor to report the general condition of affairs for this Division as follows

Sanitary - The sanitary condition still remains good, some few cases of Small Pox have occurred confined altogether to the whites, the same is reported as having almost disappeared - There is considerable sickness incident to the climate and season of the year of Malarial type, which in some cases has assumed the Typhoid character and in the lower section of this Division several deaths have occurred.

Crops - The crops are not in a very flourishing condition owing to the heavy rains which have prevailed during the entire season. Good judges who are conversant with the state of the crops in this Division estimate there will not be more than half a crop of corn. But little wheat was sown and that was good. Oats of which there was an average crop sown are also good; of Fruit there is a large quantity and of fine quality.

General Condition - There is some suffering among the freedmen especially among the older portion. They feel it more as the season advances. Those that made little crops last year are now running out, and they have had very little chance of adding to their store the present year, in consequence of being compelled to remain in doors during the late and previous inclement weather, of which there has been a very unusual quantity this present year.
