Warrenton June 25th 1867
My dear brother
I was sorry that my sickness prevented me being with you in the last Sabbath, especially since I have heard that one Sunday School has been broken up through the meddling of that good man who cant find time enough in the week to talk politics, but must be going about violating the Sabbath and desecrating churches, and setting a bad example for the colored people, in making political speeches to Sunday schools. I hear the church is closed now to a separate school in the evening. I am sorry you permitted that man to make use of the house for such a purpose. I knew that I will be blamed for ever having commenced it. But it cant be helped now I will continue to preach to you as before and even offend if I become sufficiently strong. I will be with you all again the Fourth (4th) Sunday in July. I send you a package of books for the school which I hear you intend continuing at Mr Nyers or Borlet The Lord be with you all
Yours in Christ
James
