upon the questions now before them, but they will not be made the tools of any political Organization Their shrewdness is greater than any suspected and the power of concealing their thoughts, which they learned while slaves, will yet serve them a good purpose. They still maintain their old reputation for quietness and respect for law, and there is every prospect that they will not only prove worthy of this last great privilege which the Government has bestowed upon them, but will do themselves and the Country credit by the use which they will make of it.

The Boards of Registration have completed their first sessions and from the best information I can get nearly every Colored man entittled  to vote has been registered. A few cases of inability on account of sickness have been reported but these will register at the next session of the Boards.
