General; I have the honor to report in compliance with Circular No. 6 dated Hd. Qrs. Asst. Comr. Richmond, Va January 29 1866 the following: The Registration having taken the most of my time during the past month it is almost impossible for me to make a report under this Circular but as regards the organization of Temperance Societies I have done nothing and cannot until after the Registration is finished; I have spoken of it to some of the leading colored men who seem to be very anxious to organize such a society. There is one thing remarkable that can be said of the Freedmen in this Division, that is, I have been stationed here seventeen months and have seen but one colored man
