in relation to forming temperance societies. to the most prominent colored men, and it meets with their hearty approval, they have not as yet formed any decided plan of action in regard to it, but within the next month will probably organize some of the societies as recommended, Intemperance has not increased among the Freedmen since the war in this Division, and in my opinion, prevails to a greater extent among the Whites, than among the Blacks, and is productive of more evil to the community.
