The feeling of distrust heretofore existing between the Whites and freedmen has disappeared to a greater extent

The Civil Authorities are disposed to do justice to the freedmen and there is no disposision to deprive them of justice or a hearing.

The Temperance question has been aggitated amongst the freedmen on a form of a pledge given for them to sign by families & by Societies I believe in time it will do good work for them

The School has been closed for this month on account of extreme warm weather & sickness of the teacher. It will be open next month with a good number of scholars & be liberally supported by the freedmen
