In compliance with Cir. No. 6 Series 1866 Bureau of R.F and A. Lands Head Quarters Asst Commr State of Virginia, I have the honor to report that, the affairs of the Bureau, in this sub District, during the present month, have been entirely unobstructed by the Civil Courts or individuals,
I am not, however, prepared to say that public feeling has at all improved since my last report which may chiefly be attributed, in my opinion, the political disability incurred by many in consequence of the supplementary bill passed by the late session of Congress,
The Freedmen- as a general thing are both industrious and enterprising:— The Temperance cause is prospering in their hands, They now number about seventy five in this place and the society in the Village of Middleburg has increased to upwards of one hundred. Its success, however, can not be questioned. Here the society meets every week
