Of colored parties being charged with grave offences, and illicit cohabitation.

Morally, there is a decided change for the better- Not a single case of arrest or confinement, on the part of the civil authorities, for theft or other offences against the law- and none have been incarcerated or held to answer for their misconduct. The several jails are without an occupant.

Spiritually, there have been large additions to the Church- which bring with it the fruits of Christianity- love, joy and peace: with sobriety, honesty and truthfulness.

The organization of temperance Division have been delayed- it is expected that one or more will be inaugurated during the early part of October.

Politically, the Colored Men are almost a unit in sustaining the National Republican Nominee for the State Convention. They seem to take a great interest in the Politics of the Country, and are very anxious to be instructed, as to what course to pursue. 

Very many of them have received assistance in the settlement of their accounts, in obtaining satisfaction from those who are disposed to wrong them; and in various ways, they have been benefitted, by the cooperation afforded them.
