Charitable Northern Society in their behalf. The women and children and the aged of both Sexes are certainly at this present time in want of clothing and are going to suffer the coming winter unless help reaches them speedly throug the before mentioned channels As an illustration I would state that I have Seen orders from the overseers of the Poor in some of my Counties given to Colored widowers to draw clothing from the Stores the County becoming responsible for the payment. but these orders were not respected by Store Keepers on the ground that the would have to lag too long out of their money as I learned upon inquiry. Many of the Sabbath Schools established and well attended in the first part of the summer have broken up the one at this place is the only one that Seems to prosper. And it has not been so will attended as when Mr Park and his Mother the Teachers who were sent out from the north returned home. The work on the School House here and at Bristol is fast being completed. the School Building at this place will accomadate 300 Scholars & three teachers from the north will be here by the 5th of October. In conclusion I would earnestly entrait again that the Scarcity of Clothings of the Freedmen of these Six counties be made known and their wants in some measure relieved
Very Respectfully Your obt Servt
