these people. I am convinced that if the old infirm freedmen depend upon either the County Authorities, or private charity for support, they will soon find that they are leaning upon broken reeds indeed.

The School interest, is in the same condition as it was at the date of my last Report. - Every advantage is taken by the freedmen to inform themselves & notwithstanding their limited means of education, have improved astonishly. I earnestly hope, the applications made by me for assistance, in erecting School Houses, has been favorably considered. I can do but little towards this, unless some funds are furnished me.
