Very few difficulties arise between the Freedmen and their employers, and such as do arise are trifling and are easily settled to the satisfaction of all the parties concerned

The Tobacco Crop which is now being housed and cured, promises to be an excellent one. Also the Corn Crop

There are no paupers dependant upon the Government, the County Authorities providing for all applicants and among the Freedmen they are very few. 

There has as yet no Temperance Societies been formed in the County, the Freedmen taking no interest in the matter, though efforts are being made in different parts of the County to form Societies, some of which I think meet with success

Teachers are expected here daily to take charge of the school to be opened here for the Freedmen. The various Sabbath Schools throughout the County are flourishing but great difficulty is experienced in keeping up the interest among the Freedmen they will take great interest at first, and learn rapidly, but soon become careless and lose all interest in education such is the case with many

With the exception of the Chills & Fever which prevails to some extent the health of the County is good

Good feeling generally prevails throughout the County between the whites and colored but few instances to the contrary.
