In compliance with the provisions of Circular No 6, Bureau R F & A L Hd Qrs A.C. Richmond, Va. January 27th 1866, I have the honor to submit the following report with reference to the condition of Bureau affairs in this Sub Dist during the present month.

A friendly feeling still continues between the whites and the colored.

I have no general complaint with reference to labor upon the past either of employer or employe.  

With but few exceptions the colored people have been peaceable and law-abiding.

A mass Convention. held at Ashland on the 21st inst. resulted in the nomination of Col William James, for Hanover, and John B Crenshaw for Hanover
