BUREAU R. F. AND A. L.
OFFICE ASST. SUB. ASST COM'R.,
1st Div., 5th Sub. Dist., Va.,
Fort Monroe, Oct 7th 1867.

Bvt. Brig. Genl. O. Brown
Asst Com'r Va.
Bureau R.F.& A.L.

General
Pursuant to Circ. 6 Series 1866. Hd. Qrs. Asst. Com. Va. I have the honor to report the condition of Bureau affairs (to 30th inst.,) as unchanged since date of last report.

A temperance society has been organized in this division, and the prospects are encouraging, The sickness of the Rev. Wm Thornton, Chairman, has prevented a full report, which will however be submitted at an early date.

This report has also been delayed owing to severe indisposition, which has entirely unfitted me for duty during the past eight days.

I am very respectfully
Your Obt. Servant
Mont. S. Reed
1st Lieut A.S.A.Com.
