The crops in this section, although greatly injured by the continuous wet and backward weather of the spring and summer, will probably average one half the usual yield.

The election, both in the 1st and 2nd Div. passed off quietly, and without excitement.

Pursuant to existing orders, all pauper freed-people, heretofore cared for by the Bureau, who were residents of their respective counties 1861 have been transferred, from Bureau Hospital 1st. Div., to the overseers of the poor, who have provided them with quarters in the county Poor House, where it is believed they will be well cared for

Earnest attention is now being bestowed upon the educational interests of this sub. division. New schools are being rapidly organized, and
