I have the honor to submit the following report in regard to Bureau Affairs in general in my Division.
Affairs are marking more favorably than I expected; I had looked for trouble growing out of political affairs but as yet have heard of no Freedmen in my Division being discharged from employment in consequence of having voted contrary to the wishes of their employers.
The general condition of affairs is favorable, except so far as education is concerned; I have but one school and several more are much needed.
The free use of intoxicating liquors does not seem to exist to any extent among the colored people here. I have seldom seen a Freedman under the influence of liquor since I
