I have the honor to report in regard to the condition of Bureau affairs in this County the present month, that there is a marked change for the better. the freedmen are quiet & orderly, held no more meetings than the political situation demands & there is a much healthier state of feelings between them and their white neighbors than I found on my arrival there is a great interest felt in schools. Jessie [[?]] who have the land & rough lumber for the school at West Point Church & is to teach it, has raised $100.00 besides & they are at work preparing lumber for a fine building. At Mangohick Church an equaly great interest is felt. Three schools will certainly be in operation by Christmas I have succeeded in getting enough Books for a beginning. Very few dificulties arise at present between employers & Laborers. The truth is the Freedmen are giving
