General
In compliance with Circular No 6, Jan 29th 1866, I have the honor to report, that Bureau Affairs are getting along very well. The state of feeling existing between the whites and Freedmen is very unsettled, and not as friendly as heretofore. The whites will as far as the can - even to their own inconvenience, dispense with the services of the Freedmen who voted the Republican ticket in the late election, particularly those who took any prominent part. I fear that during the coming winter some of the Freedmen will suffer.

ON the subject of Temperance among the Freedmen there has been but little progress made owning to the excitement consequent on the Election.

I am happy to be able to state that during the past election I did not see one, single case of drunkenness among the Freedmen.

I am General
Very respectfully
Your Obdt Servt
