No cases of injustice toward the freedpeople have occurred in this county, to my knowledge. The majority of the Justices of the Peace are favorably inclined toward them, and in favor of securing to them their rights, and the balance acquiesce from feelings of policy. 

The Temperance movement among the Col'd people is still warmly sustained by able men both white and colored, the result is not remarkable, still there are signs of a foothold having been gained, and a hope of ultimate success.
