in this Town and I am happy to have to say assisted to a considerable extent by their present Employers. The Freedmen as a people are well disposed and respectful but very seldom involved in law suits and then it is generally with each other and the late election has brought about no change of ill feeling so far between them and the whites. The presence of the military and Trial by Mil Commission may be attributed to this in some measure.
