Bvt Cap A.S.A.C. 6 In compliance with Circular No. 6 Hd Qrs Asst Commr State of Va Jany 29th 1866, reports, that the feeling between the two races is not good and has not been since State Election In Civil Courts before Magistrates the freedmen do not get Justice in most cases there is some intemperance among the freedmen, but their wants seem to be better supplied, as applications for relief are not made so far except for clothing Bureau R.F. and A. Dec 4, 1867 Respectfully forwarded with the remark that proscription against the blacks who voted the - so called - conservative ticket seems to have been determined upon by the Whites whose direct interest is not to the contrary, some using thier endeavors to get up combinations with the view of depriving such colored people of labor.
