are trying in every way to enrage the minds of the people against the blacks.

The Freedmen are much more quiet and orderly than the whites and are doing every thing they can for the promotion of their class, they are industrious and are doing well. The work of organizing Temperance Societies is progressing, three societies have been organized and I learn have reported to the Executive Committee.
