looking forward to the establishment of school houses in their midst with a great deal of eagerness.  I  have no doubt that these institutions where completed if properly sustained will be productive of much good.  NO cases have come under my observation where freedmen have been discharged by their employers on account of exercising the elective franchise.  while honest, industrious and peaceably disposed freedmen appear to be treated by the whites with as much kindness and consideration as those of a like color.
