The schools are in a prosperous condition No 1, Christiansburg, has recently been graded, and is in charge of two teachers. It numbers one hundred and twenty eight day and seventy five night scholars. The pupils are advancing rapidly in their studies, and are putting forth their best efforts, towards acquiring an education.
The Sunday School at this place is a great success; crowded every Sabbath, and numbers one superintendent, two assistants, twenty eight teachers, and over two hundred scholars, besides a list over seventy who come occasionally, when the weather is good, from distant parts of the county. - At Newbern Pulaski County the teacher is greatly encouraged in her work with the same interest manifested as Christiansburg. Day School numbers sixty seven scholars. The Sunday school has one superintendent seven teachers and eighty five scholars- besides a large bible class under the special charge of Miss R.W. Smith, their teacher.
