among the latter which prevails to a considerable extent, that it should have such an effect, however, can not be wondered at. 
Unusual quiet has prevailed in this sub-division during the past month and very few complaints of any kind have been received.
I regret to be obliged to report that the schools are all closed for want of facilities to heat the buildings and would respectfully recommend, that if there are any stoves in possession of the Bureau, suitable for the purpose, they be donated for use in the School Houses, as the colored people are unable to raise money to provide them and it is a great pity that the schools should have to be closed on this account during the very season of the year and when the people have most time to attend them.
