Division, and I dont thing there will be during this winter. The crops have all turned out fair, and enough produce is remaining to supply all wants.
 
Notwithstanding the many rumors, of uprising during the holidays, in this part of the state. all passed off more quietly, than for many years known before.
 
The freedman are becoming more temperate, and economical. the are learing better; the value of good reputations. and many have saved enough since there freedom, to procure themselves comfortable homes.

There are five freedmens schools in my Division, in which upwards of three hundred children are instructed, besides the adults taught at night school- two of them are supported by the Pennsylvania, Freedmens, Relieve, Association. One by the Baptist Home Mission Society. and the other two are supported by the freedmen themselves. All of them are in a flurishing condition, and the attendants as a general thing are making great proficiency in education
