as their labor is in demand in this Div. My advice to them is to not make any contracts at reduced wages and exercise your rights independent of all men.

The freedmen have made comfortable arrangements for their families for the coming winter no assistance will be call'd for unless its in the case of long & sever sickness.

The schools have been closed during part of this month.

All loyal white men & intelligent freedmen are disappointed in the change at the Bureau They feel they cannot get along without it until the State is reconstructed.
