In compliance with Circular No 6 Series of 1866 Hd Qrs of Asst Commissioner State of Virginia

I have the honor to report that the affairs of the Bureau in this Division as follows-

Since my last report a Colored woman named Melissa Ewell was murdered near Drummondton Accomac County, by some person unknown on the 25th day of December 1867 about 6 oclock P.M. Melissa Ewell was moving the plats after the family had taken supper from the room adjoining the kitchen in Mr. John B. Nelsons House in Accomac County Va-  She had had had taken a part of the supper dishes through the door into the kitchen and put them upon
