The horse subsequently (in a day or two) returned to his owner, without the bridle, as if he had freed himself while tied - The whole transaction was witnessed by a citizen from his door. 

The next day a warrant was issued for the arrest of the criminals, who having fled, were pursued some distance, and then abandoned - It is thought they are concealed in the mountains, and hopes are entertained that they will yet be captured.
