The School Houses at Burkeville and Meherrin Depot are in good condition, with the exception of the lack of Stoves or fire places.

There is a new School House at Wellville, recently completed and now in successful operation: the house is most too small for the number of pupils attending the school, but considering the bad weather and other difficulties encountered, remarkable energy was exhibited in its erection, for which much credit is due to Mr. J. H. Murdock, the efficient teacher.
