I have the honor to report that the state of feeling existing between the whites and blacks in my division remains very bitter and in my opinion will continue so for a long period at least until after the election for state officers then I think twill gradually diminish but kind feelings never will exist between what was once "Master" and "Slave".
During the past year negroes have in my opinion worked well although quite a number of complaints have been made that "niggers" wont work.
Those making complaints I have found were poor managers and totally unfit to work laborers owing to inexperience in farming and business matters. Several families from the north have settled in this
