In compliance with Circular No 6, series 1866 Bur of B F and AL. Hd Qrs Asst Comr state of Virginia. I have the honor to report that, the affairs of this office during the present month have been unobstructed As far as I am able to judge there has been no change in public sentiment Labor is in great demand. As a general thing the Freedmen male and female, have hired by the year. The price for men ranges from $100 tp $170 per year [[Strikethrough]] forward [[/Strikethrough]] according to there efficiency the price for women varyes from $40, to $100 per year according to efficiency and encumbrance &c On 23d inst another Temperance society was organized those which were previously organized continue to prosper
