The Sunday School at this place, numbers 1 superintendent, 2 asst's 28 Teachers and 209 regularly enrolled scholars, besides a number who come in from the country, when ever the weather and roads are favorable. This School is accomplishing a good work. At Newbern, Pulaski County, the School numbers one Teacher and one hundred and twenty-four Scholars, including 97 day and 27 night scholars. Their Sunday School numbers one superintendent, 5 Teachers and 61 Scholars. Bible Class taught by the Teacher in charge of the day School.

Both these interests are in a very flourishing condition, and the Scholars are making rapid progress in their studies.

At Salem, Roanoke County, I found a School taught by the Rev J. W. Diggs, Colored Preacher, with 48 Male and 20 Female Scholars, but needs looking after to make it a success, or consolidate it, with one general school interest for that section. The Teacher informed me that he cannot give it his whole attention, and will probably have to discontinue it after a while, but until a regularly organized School can be established, he will do his best towards a successful prosecution of the work. Another school is about to be started there, by a colored Preacher named Walker Smith, but under similar circumstances as that above referred to.
