The schools in this Div. have increased during the past month. the ones in New Market & Woodstock though only open a few days, yet number about thirty (30) scholars
each.

The supply of clothing just received was sadly needed, and has added much to the comfort of the destitute -

I can not say much for for the temperance movement, it would require
constant attention, and my whole time, to keep alive, as the Freedmen are not yet capable of any muted action - this is a fault though, that in schools are gradualy improving. I have not yet made my inspection of schools for the Month. of January & Febury owning to the inclement weather, but the teachers report very favorably.
