I have the honor to submit the following report of the operations of the Bureau R. F. and A. Lands 10th Sub-Dist. of Va. for the month of January 1868.

The schools have been in operations during the month, the following statement exhibits the condition of the schools in this Sub-District:

Some few cases of injustice have been complained of, but, upon being referred to the civil authorities, have been settled upon just principles and satisfactory to the parties.

Destitution and suffering is still prevalent in Alexandria Co. none is reported from the other counties except Fauquier, some destitution is reported from that county, the first this season, and which can only be attributed to the fact of the people of that county, acting upon
