under the circumstances as they are very Poor, There is sufficient Labor for the demand and the Freedmen are industrious and receive fair wages 
for their Labor. they are well satisfied and contented.

The state of feeling existing between the Whites and the Freedmen is not very good. The Freedmen being disposed to treat the whites in general with suspicion. The whites are still prejudiced against the Freedmen, I think that a better feeling might exist.
 
No organization for the furtherance of the cause of Temperance has been effected in this Division, though efforts have been made the Freedmen of this Division are not inclined to be intemperate. I think there is less intemperance in this section of the state than any place I have ever been in.
