already proved a great benefit to the colored people. The school at Falls Church is discontinued, the Society not feeling able to provide a teacher since the resignation of Miss Heald. The school at Lewinsville is also to be discontinued for the same reason. At the instance of the Society Miss Brinkershoff of Hernden is employed to carry on the school at Frying Pan Church. 
A school has been [[strikethrough]] locate [[/strikethrough]] commenced near Centerville which I have received the promise of the Society that they will assist. This school is taught by a colored man and will be a success. Application has been made for assistance for this school, also for one to be located at at Buckland.

I have just examined the school House at Painters, which has just been completed and find it built in accordance with the contract. This school will commence as soon as a teacher can be procured.
