generally rich, it requires but a little labor - comparatively speaking - to secure a person at least enough to eat

The Freedmen are probably fortunate in this respect, as in cases of destitution in find that the overseers of Poor require considerable urging to act as they should in the matter

The freedmen are quiet and orderly, very few complaints are made against them and those generally of a frivolous nature 

Schools have been well attended and a disposition to go forward with the work is shown, several schools could be established with a little aid from the Bureau in the way of money to build, they would be self supporting after getting a building
