are able. There is no sickness among them except cold incidental to the past wet weather. 
There has been a private pay School for Freedmen started during the present month and it is hoped this may be but a beginning The colored people are anxious to have their children educated and are doing the best they can to that end. Their means are too small to hope for much from their unaided efforts. The Sabbath School on the Wise Farm is still in operation. 

The Tenants on the Wise Farm are busily engaged in putting in their crops, and if the season proves favorable hope for a good return from their labor. 

Temperance has not received any especial attention among them, but an intemperate Freedmen is rarely seen. 

The state of feeling between Whites and Freedmen remains much the same as at the date of my last report, considerable bitterness exists.
