themselves.  In regard to the subject of temperance among the freedmen I have nothing new to state.  No cases of drunkeness have occurred among them so far as I know during the month.

They are apparently sober and industrious and it is to be hoped that a bountiful harvest may crown their efforts, and thereby their condition be improved, and themselves encouraged to labor in the future.
