Vicksburg. Miss Sept, 16th, 1867. Respectfully referred to Bvt Maj T. H. Norton. Sub Asst Comr Meridian, Miss, who will investigate and report upon this Case, taking quick action as in his judgement is just & proper. By order of Bvt Maj Genl A. C. Gillem (sigd.) J. W. Thomas Robinson seven miles from Gainesville Junction, on the DeKalb road, and Richard Burton at Gainesville Junction. Martin of Bovina Station Miss, who applies for an apprentice out of the Asylum at Lauderdale Bureau Refugees, Freedmen & Abandoned Lands Office Asst Commissioner Vicksburg Miss Sept 11th, 1867. Please notice, the abbreviation for Commissioner in most cases on most pages is actually "Comnr" or "Comsr NOT "Commr". Look at the number of humps in the cursive letters you see. Three humps in a "m" and two humps in an "n". You would see six humps if it were "mm".
