R.F. & A.L. with the information that Willia Washington, an inmate of the asylum will meet the requirement of the within application Jno D Moore Lieut V.R.C Sub Asst Com'r Endorsement on Communication from W. J. Smith of Clinton, Miss who desires to apprentice two children (a boy or a girl), between the ages of 8 & 12 years. Bureau Refugees, Freedmen &c. Office Asst Comr, Vicksburg Miss Oct 24th 1867. Respectfully referred to Lieut John D. Moore, Sub Asst Comm'r Lauderdale Miss for information if there are any children in the asylum, meeting the requirements mentioned within. By order of Bv't Maj Gen. A. C. Gillem Asst Commissioner Sig'd H. R. William 2nd Lieut 24 Inft A.I.G. Officer Sub asst Commissioner Bureau Refugees &c Lauderdale, Miss October 31st 1867. Respectfully returned to Bv't Maj Genl. A. C. Gillem Asst Commissioner for State of Miss with the information that [[Noah? Park?]] Segars & Emily [[Childs? Chubbs?]] inmates of the Asylum will meet the requirements of the within application. Jno D Moore 1st Lieut Vet Res Corps Sub Asst Com'r 75 Endorsement on communication from Dr. D. B. McFarland of Cornith Miss who encloses accounts for Medical attention against indigent freedmen of Corinth &c. Office Bu. R.F. and A.L. Sub Dist Corinth Miss November 6th, 1867. Respectfully forwarded, I have information Dr McFarland that I have no knowledge of any appropriation for which he could be paid for the services rendered. I am of the opinion that in the cases mentioned in the accounts of Dr. McFarland that Medical attendance was urgently required, and the person trusted have no means to pay for the services of a physician, If there is any way by which the Doctor can receive compensation, either in whole or in part, I would recommend that he be paid. I am informed that Lieut. Moore, formerly Sub Asst Com'r for this Sub-Dist. promised Dr. McFarland that he would state, to these accounts, I forward them for that reason.
