Endorsement in communication from Mary Mills Freedwoman. Shubuta, Miss, July 9. 1868. States that one John. Macon owes her fifteen dollars and refuses to pay the same. That he has treated her very badly otherwise.

Endorsement on communication from Jesse Fearn, Shumbuta, Miss May. 14. 1868. Reports that there are many colored children in that vicinity who are destitute of food and clothing and that many of them are bound out to white people  Their mothers are daily making application to him to devise some means whereby they may regain possession of their children &c. Requests advice in the premises
